JOSEPH CAMPBELL / BRANDING
It is hard to quantify Joseph Campbell’s impact on our culture. He is widely cited throughout the artistic and creative community as a major influence. Joseph Campbell was arguably the greatest mythologist of the twentieth century and certainly one of our greatest storytellers. Through his writing and lectures, Campbell was on a quest to convey his excitement and lifelong exploration of our mythic traditions in what he called “the one great story of mankind.”
The non-profit Joseph Campbell Foundation was acquiring the copyrights of Campbell’s many books and lectures and needed a unifying system that would organize them under the heading of “COLLECTED WORKS”. We created a system incorporating their existing Zen circle behind a modified serif typography for Campbell’s name. A consistent book cover architecture was created to highlight the Joseph Campbell name and individual title. This look was translated to iTunes recorded lectures and all other materials as well.
